Creating High-Quality Yacht and Naval Design

GEOFF sailing

van Aller Yacht & Naval Design, LLC

Geoff's path to becoming a naval architect was as direct as they come. When he was 6 years old, he told his father that he wanted to be the best naval designer in the world. The die was cast, and Geoff eventually went on to fulfill his ultimate dream of opening his own design firm. The following tenets define his commitment to his craft.

  • ALWAYS DO RIGHT BY THE MATERIALS, THE DESIGN, AND THE CLIENT
  • NEVER FORGET WHY YOU'RE DESIGNING IN THE FIRST PLACE
  • NO MATTER HOW YOU DO IT, LEAVE YOUR MARK

"TWENTY YEARS FROM NOW, YOU WILL BE MORE DISAPPOINTED BY THE THINGS YOU DIDN'T DO THAN THOSE YOU DID. SO THROW OFF THE BOWLINES. SAIL AWAY FROM SAFE HARBOR. CATCH THE WIND IN YOUR SAILS. EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER."— MARK TWAIN, GREAT AMERICAN WRITER

Our Story

It was fate that brought Geoff and navals together. His grand father had a love of navals, the water and all things associated and passed that love to his son. As a college swimmer, sailor, and Navy diver, naturally his father's influence guided Geoff in the same direction. That passion for the sea led him to the University of New Orleans to study Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering. He also pursued studies in Yacht & Naval Design at Westlawn Institute of Marine Technology. While finishing studies he interned at Bollinger Shipyard working on projects from patrol craft to jackup barges. Afterwards a short stint at a local yacht and naval designer prepared him for the jump to Trinity Yachts in New Orleans. Through the twenty years at Trinity Yachts, Geoff contributed as Staff Naval Architect, Project Engineer, & Chief Designer on various yacht, commercial and military projects.
